Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento joins Governor Harris Ongchuan, other local officials across Samar Island for the 51st Samar Island Partnership for Peace and Development (SIPPAD) Assembly being held in Catarman today, July 23, 2026. Hosted by Northern Samar, the forum gathers heads of the church, representatives of national government agencies, LGUs, academe, and civil society organizations in the three provinces of Samar Island at the Ibabao Hall, Provincial Capitol in Northern Samar, to strengthen multisectoral collaboration, and advance peace initiatives for the progress of the entire Samar Island.
