Following the recent strategic meeting at the Department of
Science and Technology (DOST) Central Office, the Provincial Economic
Development and Investment Promotions Office (PEDIPO) convened a coordination
meeting with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Northern Samar at
the PEDIPO Conference Hall to discuss the next steps in advancing Science,
Technology, and Innovation (STI) initiatives in the province.
The meeting focused on identifying key action points from
the discussions with DOST Undersecretary for Regional Operations, Usec. Sancho
A. Mabborang, particularly on strengthening collaborative programs that
leverage science, technology, and innovation to support Northern Samar's
economic and development priorities. Central to the discussion was the
promotion of technology-driven interventions that will help incubate meaningful
enterprises, accelerate innovation, and create sustainable livelihood and investment
opportunities for Nortehanons.
Led by Engr. Anorly Narca, Officer-in-Charge of DOST
Northern Samar, the coordination meeting centered on priority initiatives,
inter-agency collaboration, and implementation strategies aimed at promoting
innovation, technology adoption, and research-driven development. The team also
explored opportunities to align its plans and resources to ensure that future
STI initiatives effectively address local challenges, strengthen the province's
innovation ecosystem, and support the growth of competitive, sustainable, and
meaningful enterprises.
PEDIPO and DOST Northern Samar reaffirmed their commitment
to strengthening their partnership in advancing science, technology, and
innovation as catalysts for inclusive economic growth. Through sustained
collaboration, both agencies aim to develop technology-based solutions, enhance
public services, foster innovation-driven enterprises, and build a more
resilient and competitive Northern Samar.
