As part of its ongoing efforts to improve road safety and
public security in Northern Samar, the Provincial Government has successfully
completed the installation of solar street lights along the national highway in
the municipality of Pambujan as part of Governor Harris Ongchuan's expansive
street lighting program in the province.
Funded through the Economic Development Fund, the project
includes the construction and installation of 220 streetlight posts equipped
with solar lighting systems to ensure 24/7 uninterrupted power supply.
To ensure the project met the design and quality standards,
the Provincial Government Inspectorate Team conducted a final inspection
yesterday, April 22, 2026.
Now fully operational, the solar streetlights provide
increased road visibility that enhances security for residents of Pambujan;
allows safer travels of road users; and increases the transportation of people
and mobility of goods, essential services, and products within the province.
