Led by Northern Samar Provincial Hospital chief, Dr. Joseph
Estanislao and Provincial Health Office Chief Technical Officer, Dr. John
Ezekiel Valera, the Provincial Government held an on-boarding session for our
medical scholars-now doctors on the first office day this 2026 as they commence
their mission at the NSPH as part of the Provincial Government medical team.
Governor Harris Ongchuan extended his welcome to the 4 new
doctors - Dr. Alexis Gene Almasco, Dr. Ara Jasmine Poche, Dr. Jeremiah Pedrola,
and Dr. Charisse Mercado who are all products of the Provincial Government
Medical Scholarship Program (PGNS MSP). They have successfully passed the 2025
Physician's Licensure Examinations, which now makes a total of 9 MSP doctors
since the program's inception in 2020. As part of the scholarship conditions,
grantees have to render return service in Northern Samar government hospitals
when they have completed their study and become licensed doctors.
Joining Dr. Estanislao and Dr. Valera in the reception were
Dr. Elizabeth Nochete, Dr. Florlinda Bugna, Dr. Christine Layon-Estanislao and
Dr. Joyce Suan, along with the PGNS MSP Technical Working Group.
Welcome on board PGNS MSP doctors!
