Governor Harris Ongchuan receives Office of Civil Defense Region 8 OIC Director Rey Gozon who visits Northern Samar after Super Typhoon Uwan

Northern Samar was among the many areas hammered by strong winds and heavy rains when Super Typhoon Uwan crossed Catanduanes, with the typhoon signal raised to as high as No. 3 across the province.

Governor Ongchuan has deployed 3 rapid damage assessment and needs analysis (RDANA) teams to assess the overall impact of the typhoon to the 24 towns of Northern Samar. The RDANA is significant to determine the necessary response, rehabilitation and recovery efforts of the government after the onslaught of Uwan on November 8-9, 2025.
