In a significant push towards enhancing the ease of doing business in the Philippines, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. lauded several national agencies and local government units, with Northern Samar prominently among the awardees. The commendation came during the "Gawad Bayanihan sa Pamumuhunan: Making It Happen with a Whole-of-Nation Strategy" held in Malacañan Palace last March 13, 2025, focusing on the seamless processing of business applications through the One-Stop Action Center for Strategic Investments (OSACSI).
This initiative aligns with Executive Order No. 18, aiming to drastically reduce bureaucratic red tape and stimulate quicker economic growth and job creation. Northern Samar, under the leadership of Governor Edwin C. Ongchuan, was highlighted for its exceptional contribution towards this national goal, standing out among other recognized LGUs for its effective implementation of "green lanes" for investments.
