33rd Kauswagan Caravan: bringing vital services closer to the Camporicay District in Laoang, Northern Samar

For the Provincial Government, the season of giving extends beyond Christmas, heading to the island town of Laoang early morning today, January 16, 2025, under inclement weather, to bring vital aid to the Camporicay District community, along with national government agencies, non-government organizations and private sector groups.

Hundreds of Camporicay residents flocked to Cagaasan Elementary School where they eagerly awaited for the caravan of services.

Led by Governor Edwin Ongchuan, the 33rd Kauswagan Caravan brought smiles to 738 families from the component barangays of the Camporicay District: Cagaasan, Canyomanao, G. B. Tan, Sangcol, and Suba, returning home full-handed with goods and other useful items, apart from the range of services made available for them, from free medical check-up and dental services, to legal consultation, haircut, civil registration, free assorted vegetable seeds, tree seedlings, food packs, school supplies, toys, goodies, and many other home essentials.

“Dire sa ngatanan nga lugar ginhihimo ini pero dinhe sa Nothern Samar, gintatalinguha san aton Gobyerno Probinsyal pinaagi kan Gobernador Edwin Ongchuan nga magkamayaon kit sini nga dako nga oportunidad. Darako an ato igpapasalamat sa aton Gobyerno Probinsyal nga ginhihimo ini nga Kauswagan Caravan,” Laoang Mayor Hector Ong through Vice Mayor Mike Sarmiento said in behalf of the Laoanganons, voicing out gratitude for this brainchild program of the Governor in the province.
This time, the Kauswagan Caravan team welcomed an addition to its benevolent partners, the Magpayo Group of Companies (MGC) which generously distributed 200 packs of rice on their first participation in the caravan. The program has also served as a platform for private partners to extend their corporate social responsibility: Jaja’s General Merchandise, Philippine Eagles, Northern Samar Contractors' Association, Samar Island Riders Community, Norsam Builders, REANS, NSCEMCO, Joshua Meat Products, IDS and Triple J Trading, and Jollibee.

The Provincial Government thanks everyone who showered love in the form of service and hopes that the community spirit lives on in Northern Samar.
