Provincial Government completes new evacuation center in UEP

To protect the lives of Nortehanons in times of calamities, the Provincial Government of Northern Samar has recently completed the construction of another evacuation center, this time at the University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) Zone I, Catarman, Northern Samar.

Situated near the coast, the facility offers temporary shelter for residents of UEP Zone I with homes vulnerable to typhoons.

The project includes comfort rooms, kitchen, lightings, water tank, generator set, emergency lights, ramp, and other basic features essential in providing evacuees easy access and comfort while at the center.

The initiative exemplifies the continued effort of the Provincial Government, under the leadership of Governor Edwin Ongchuan, to provide Nortehanons resilient infrastructure especially in times of emergencies.

The project was inspected by the PGNS Inspectorate team on December 4, 2024, prior its turn over to Brgy Zone 1, 2024 on December 7, 2024.
