OWWA Regional Welfare Office 8 led by OIC-RD Mary Catherine Pastor, visits the Provincial Government

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Regional Welfare Office 8 led by OIC-Regional Director Mary Catherine Pastor, paid a courtesy visit to the Provincial Government today, October 10, 2024, the day of its orientation and contract signing with OWWA scholars in Northern Samar held at the Sumuroy Hall of the Provincial Capitol.

Vice Governor Clarence Dato ushered RD Pastor and her team to his office where the latter briefly discussed updates on OWWA’s programs for Northern Samar.

The Provincial Government keeps a strong partnership with OWWA where both collaborated for the establishment and operations of an OWWA Desk in the province.  With the approval of Governor Edwin Ongchuan, OWWA’s designated officer for Northern Samar was given the opportunity to hold office at the NSPESO where it accommodates inquiries and provides services to its Nortehanon clients.  Alongside its regular functions, the NSPESO alternately serves as OWWA’s extension and facilitator of its services, whenever the need arises.

Currently, OWWA’s scholarship program benefits a number of Nortehanons and they also provide livelihood and/or financial assistance to displaced OFWs from Northern Samar.  OWWA is the national government agency tasked to protect and promote the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families.
With OWWA Regional Director during the visit to Vice Governor Dato was her OWWA 8 staff and NSPESO manager Maurice de Guia.
