Today is World Population Day!

The Provincial Government through the Provincial Population Office joins the nation in the observance of the World Population Day today. The celebration underscores the need to protect young people's rights, reduce adolescent pregnancy rates, improve health outcomes, and advance gender equality and human rights in the Philippines.

With the global theme, “Embracing the power of inclusive data towards a resilient and equitable future for all,” our celebration also hopes to emphasize the importance and use of reliable and inclusive data in carrying out policies, programs and interventions to ensure that the dignity and wellbeing of Filipinos, especially the youth, remains at the fore.
Celebrated on July 11 of every year, the World Population Day is a special day to raise awareness on population concerns. This began on the ‘Day of the Five Billion’ on July 11, 1987 when the global population increased rapidly to five billion, highlighting the need for a platform dedicated to address population issues. Following the same day on 1989, the Governing Council of the United Nations Programme (UNDP) established the World Population Day.
Wherever and whoever you are, the Provincial Government sees and includes you. Happy World Population Day!
