Another Pambujanon, Leboy Cahusay Atencio, brought home pride and honor to Northern Samar after winning the Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) Featherweight Championship title in Bangkok, Thailand last March 28, 2026, defeating Thai boxing icon, Sukrasied Ponphitak at the World Siam Stadium.
The local boxing champ shared his victory with Governor Harris Ongchuan, Vice Governor Clarence Dato and Board Members who were thrilled to welcome him, fresh from victory, at the Capitol. He was accompanied by Pambujan ex-mayor and sports advocate Lino Balanquit, along with Mei Nard Kataura and John Floyd Agrabio from his boxing management MJ Boxing Stable.
