Governor Harris Ongchuan, along with Vice Governor Clarence Dato, welcomed the Medical Mission Team led by Dr. Marcus Lester Suntay, Co-Founder of the WSFP and Dr. Beda Espineda, Chairman of Philippine College of Surgeons Commission on Surgery in the Unserved Regions and for Education Commission, at the Provincial Capitol today, March 17, 2026.
Forty four (44) WSFP delegates are in the province to
conduct medical mission alongside our 6 provincial surgeons. In total, 60 major
and 100 minor procedures for thyroid/goiter, imperforate anus, anorectal
malfunction, breast mass, lumps/bumps, anal fistula injury, hydrocele, hernia,
hemorrhoids, undescended testes, lipoma, cholecystitis, and Hirschsprung’s
disease will be conducted starting March 18 until March 19 at the Northern
Samar Provincial Hospital.
Vice Governor Dato quickly ushered the team around the
Provincial Capitol before they headed to NSPH for the mission.
Together with the Provincial leadership were Provincial
Health Officer Dr. Ma. Aurora Dubongco-Vicencio and Provincial Health Office
Service Delivery Division Chief Dr. John Ezekiel Valera.
