Reaffirming its commitment to resilient and inclusive infrastructure development, the Provincial Government of Northern Samar has completed the rehabilitation of a disaster-affected access road in Barangay Santander, Bobon.
Funded under the Economic Development Fund (EDF), the
project includes slope protection, road repair, and canal lining works. These
interventions aim to prevent soil erosion, ensure safer travel for motorists
and pedestrians, and strengthen disaster resilience, particularly during
periods of heavy rainfall or typhoons.
This rehabilitated road now provides a safer and more
reliable connection between Barangays E. Duran and Santander to Bobon town
proper, offering residents improved access to essential services and economic
opportunities. Both communities were among those heavily affected by flash
floods in previous typhoon seasons.
On October 8, 2025, the Provincial Government Inspectorate
Team conducted a site inspection to ensure that the project met design
specifications and complied with quality and safety standards.
The completion of the repair of this access road underscores
the Provincial Government’s steadfast dedication to fostering resilient,
well-connected, and progressive communities through continued investment in
vital infrastructure.
