Northern Samar receives 22 units of ambulance from Pres. Marcos Jr.

Governor Harris Ongchuan led Northern Samar LGUs in receiving 22 units of patient transport vehicles from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. today, August 18, 2025 in Ormoc City.

The 22 units were turned over by the President under the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s (PCSO) Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program (MTVDP).  Each ambulance vehicle includes a stretcher, oxygen tank, blood pressure monitor, first aid kit, and other essential medical tools.

With health as a priority development agenda of the Provincial Government, Governor Ongchuan said the vehicles will certainly be of great help in improving healthcare delivery and emergency response systems at the municipal level.

The patient transport vehicles, intended for LGUs, will be stationed at the 22 different towns of the province for increased mobility and enhanced access of the community to medical services in hospitals and other health facilities.

With the Governor in receiving the ambulance were the municipal mayors of the beneficiary towns of Northern Samar. President Marcos Jr., together with PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles, personally handed over the symbolic keys to the local officials.   A total of 124 PTVs were turned over today to the different LGUs across Eastern Visayas.

Governor Ongchuan congratulated the municipal officials and the Nortehanon community for this latest national government aid, which he said will complement the Provincial Government's continuing efforts to carry out a more efficient healthcare services and promote a healthy and productive Nortehanon citizenry.

He also acknowledged the national administration's support to Northern Samar.
