The 14th Kabataan Caravan was successfully held in the Pacific town of Gamay, Northern Samar—proudly known as the Home of Artisans for its rich tradition of woodcarving.
Spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Northern Samar
through the Provincial Youth Development Office and the Sangguniang Kabataan
Provincial Federation, in partnership with the Local Youth Development Office
of Gamay and the Pambayang Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan (PPSK) ng
Gamay, the event was held at Gamay National High School and marked another
milestone in the province’s youth empowerment efforts, bringing essential
services, training, and opportunities closer to the grassroots.
In her message, Local Youth Development Officer Louna Mae
Sagadal said, “This initiative serves as a vital platform to empower our youth
by bringing government services and skill-building programs directly to their
communities”. She added that the youth is the hope of the nation, the words
from our national hero which continue to resonate today. “But hope alone is not
enough—it must be nurtured and supported. That’s where our role comes in—as
leaders, educators, policymakers, and implementers. Through this initiative, we
bridge the gaps—be they generational or geographical—by bringing knowledge,
resources, and support directly to where they are needed,” emphasizing the
importance of the PYDO and the KabCar Program in empowering the youth.
The caravan served as an interactive learning platform for
young participants, equipping them with practical knowledge and skills to
become active contributors to community progress. Featured sessions included:
•Safe Spaces Act Orientation – Provincial Legal Office
•Mental Health Awareness Seminar – IGOR
•Entrepreneurial Skills Development – Provincial Economic
Development and Investment Promotions Office (PEDIPO)

The 14th Kabataan Caravan held on July 20, 2025 was not just
a day of workshops—it was a commitment to shaping the next generation of
leaders in Northern Samar. By bringing knowledge, skills, and support directly
to the youth, the caravan fosters a culture of resilience, empowerment, and
progress.
As the Kabataan Caravan continues its journey across the
province, it creates an environment where young people are encouraged to take
charge of their future and contribute meaningfully to a more sustainable and
inclusive society.
