Governor Harris Ongchuan, Vice Governor Clarence Dato, Board Member Don Abalon, other provincial and local officials, along with national government agency heads and representatives, welcomed the new 803rd Infantry Brigade Commander to Northern Samar, Brigadier General Carmelito T. Pangatungan, who assumed the post after newly-promoted Army Vice Commander Efren Morados turned over the command of the 803rd IB in a ceremony at Camp Juan Ponce Sumoroy, Brgy. Dalakit, Catarman, Northern Samar.
The change of command, symbolic of the seamless continuity
of leadership within the brigade, was made in full military honors led by 8th
ID Commander Major General Adonis Ariel G. Orio as Guest of Honor and Presiding
Officer, attended by officers, enlisted personnel, and partner-stakeholders.
On the same occasion, the formal Donning of Rank for
Brigadier General Pangatungan was held in recognition of his outstanding
leadership and commitment to service, and marks the start of his greater role
in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Exhibiting the Provincial Government’s respect and gratitude
to outgoing 803rd IB Commander, now Army Vice Commander Major General Efren
Morados, Governor Ongchuan, joined by other provincial officials, honored the
service and legacy of Major General Morados on the same occasion, July 22,
2025, acknowledging his proven dedication and excellence in his job,
contributing to a generally peaceful Northern Samar we have today.
