Provincial Government of Northern Samar and National Agencies Bring Vital Assistance to 1,393 Nortehanons through HANDOG NG PANGULO: SERBISYONG SAPAT PARA SA LAHAT


Provincial Government of Northern Samar, National Government Agencies bring aid to Nortehanons through the HANDOG NG PANGULO: SERBISYONG SAPAT PARA SA LAHAT

To help Nortehanons especially the vulnerable sectors, the Provincial Government of Northern Samar, in partnership with various National Government Agencies, joined the simultaneous conduct of the nationwide distribution of comprehensive government assistance dubbed as HANDOG NG PANGULO: SERBISYONG SAPAT PARA SA LAHAT today, September 13, 2024 at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium, Brgy. Dalakit, Catarman, Northern Samar.

One thousand three hundred ninety three (1,393) beneficiaries from the municipalities of Catarman, San Isidro, Pambujan, Allen, Las Navas, Catubig, Rosario, and San Jose, received assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) under its TUPAD Program.  LGUs Gamay and Silvino Lubos were also given livelihood assistance by DOLE amounting to P2.190 million and P2.9 million respectively.

The Provincial Government through the Northern Samar Public Employment Service Office (NSPESO), in coordination with DOLE, also conducted Job Fair where more than 1,000 domestic and overseas job vacancies were offered. As of afternoon of September 13, 36 were already hired on the spot.  
In addition, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) likewise distributed the scholarship allowance to a total of 74 TESDA scholars, with the total aid amounting to P432,000. The agency also offered enrolment to their various programs and conducted skills demonstration on bartending.
Meanwhile, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in coordination with the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) set up Kadiwa Stores where groceries, agricultural products and locally processed goods were sold at farmgate and wholesale price. DTI also offered loan assistance and business name registration to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the province.
PAO also distributed 500 assorted vegetable seeds and 200 fruit tree seedlings.  Likewise, the DA Northern Samar Agricultural Program Coordinating Office turned-over farm inputs and tools to 11 farmers’ associations in Northern Samar, with additional vegetable seeds and IEC materials provided for free to interested farmers. 
The DILG Northern Samar Provincial Office also supported the program by providing consultation services on good governance, and the distribution of books, pamphlets and flyers.
Governor Edwin Ongchuan welcomed the attendees and thanked the Office of the President for spearheading the program which he likened to the Provincial Government-led Kauswagan Caravan which brings government services closer to the people. 
The event, which coincides with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s birthday, was also graced by Vice Governor Clarence Dato, Board Members Christian Emmanuel Uy, Victorio Singzon II and Dexter Galit, Provincial Government functionaries, heads and representatives of national government agencies, and partner producers-exhibitors bringing essential services to the Nortehanons.
