The Kauswagan Caravan exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism and community service in Northern Samar.
Held today, September 9, 2024 in Brgy. Calomotan, Laoang, Northern Samar, the 28th Kauswagan Caravan saw various organizations and private sector groups join the government in the delivery of essential services to more than 1,000 families across the barangays of Aronganga, Aguadahan, Binaticlan, Magsaysay, and Calomotan, all in Laoang, Northern Samar.
This program, spearheaded by the Provincial Government under the leadership of Governor Edwin Ongchuan, underscores the importance of volunteerism by reaching out to remote communities in the province. “Our goal is to ensure that every family in Northern Samar gets access to the services they need. The Kauswagan Caravan is a testament to our commitment to help our fellow Nortehanons by bringing services closer to them, not just that of the government but also of our private sector partners,” Governor Ongchuan stated.
The Kauswagan Caravan, a multi-sectoral cooperation aimed to improve the lives of Nortehanons, has again brought a wide range of services to Laoanganons, which include free medical check-up, dental services, circumcision, haircut, legal consultation, veterinary services, farmers registration, national registration, and consultation on the programs and services of the Provincial Government and national government agencies.
Additionally, residents received food packs, school supplies, vegetable seeds and other agricultural inputs, toys, blankets, pitchers and tumblers, noodles, slippers and other essential items.
From the delivery of services to tree-planting, 18 private sector and other volunteer groups joined in the government’s campaign to green the environment by planting 100 hybrid coconut trees in Brgy. Calomotan, during today’s Kauswagan Caravan. This tree-planting initiative not only enhances the local ecosystem but also highlights collective efforts in nurturing and sustaining our environment.
The success of the 28th Kauswagan Caravan is a result of the collaborative efforts of various government agencies, non-government organizations, and private sector partners, accounted at nearly a hundred groups pooling in resources for the benefit of remote communities.
The Kauswagan Caravan continues to be a beacon of hope for many Nortehanons, demonstrating the power of community and government working together for a brighter future. Through volunteerism and collective action, the caravan not only delivers essential services but also fosters a sense of unity and shared purpose among the people of Northern Samar.
