THE SOURCE || Philippine Historical Association secretary and curator of Valenzuela City Museum, Mr. Jonathan Balsamo, shares his thoughts on the significance of local government units' efforts to promote culture and history in overall development

Mr. Balsamo made the remarks following his participation in a national event held in the province, the unveiling of the national historical marker and commemorative program on Fr. Francisco Ignacio Alcina, the historical conference and heritage visit to various heritage sites in Northern Samar.

The Provincial Government hosted the event, spearheaded by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, in partnership with LGU Palapag, the Diocese of Catarman, UEP, Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, and many historians and cultural workers organizations across the country, including the Philippine Historical Association.

Governor Edwin Ongchuan graced the event, led by NHCP officials and widely attended by guest historians and cultural workers, local officials and Catholic leaders.
