Newly Installed Solar Street Lights Along the National Highway in Dancalan, Bobon

In its aim to promote road safety and security as well as facilitate access of people, goods and services in major thoroughfares in Northern Samar, the Provincial Government has successfully installed solar street lights along the national highway in Bobon, Northern Samar as part of the incumbent administration's expansive street lighting program in the province.

With the 222 unit solar streetlights spanning about 5.5 kilometers of the national highway from Poblacion going to Brgy. Dancalan, Bobon, the P20 million-project increased road visibility during night time, thereby allowing safe travels 24/7 and increasing the mobility of people and goods to and from the market, essential services and products.

Bobon is part of the road network from Luzon or the NCR to the trade capital of Northern Samar, Catarman, the Pacific towns, Catubig Valley and other Second District towns of the province.
The newly completed streetlighting project complements the 2023 solar streetlighting project that installed 114 streetlights along the national highway in Brgy. Magsaysay, Bobon.

The Provincial Government Inspectorate Team conducted an inspection of the project this week, to ensure that it is constructed and installed as designed.

Under Governor Edwin Ongchuan’s leadership, the Provincial Government of Northern Samar remains steadfast in its commitment of facilitating safe and easy transportation of people and goods, and stimulate economic development in the province.
