49 Former Rebels Receive Financial Assistance from the Government

A total of 49 Former Rebels (Peace Builders) of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) received an aggregate amount of over one (1) million pesos of financial assistance.  The financial assistance which aims to augments the Peace Builder's renewal was distributed last July 29, 2024, at the Capitol Gym in Catarman, Northern Samar.


The financial assistance is part national government's Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) which was created on April of 2018.  The E-CLIP was established to provide financial, livelihood, reintegration, and firearm renumeration program.  E-CLIP initiative is also aims to have peace builders be reintegrated to the community, to be reunited with their families, and to start a new and normal life. During the event, the 49 Peace Builders from eight (😎 different receiving units across the province made a commitment pledge of allegiance symbolizing their dedication to peace and development in the province.

The distribution was attended by representatives from Provincial Government of Northern Samar (PGNS), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), 803rd Brigade Peacemaker, Northern Samar Police Provincial Office (NSPPO), Department of Justice (DOJ), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Northern Samar Anti-Drug Abuse Council (NSADAC), Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT), and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Northern Samar.
