Inauguration and Turn-Over Ceremony of Dancalan-Lonoy Bridge

To mark the completion of the newly-built Dancalan-Lonoy Bridge, an inauguration and turn-over ceremony was held at Brgy. Dancalan, Bobon, Northern Samar on August 02, 2023. 

The project consisting of 2 phases and costed more than 33 million pesos (Php 13,060,345 for the first phase and Php 19,971,026 for the second phase), connects Barangay Dancalan to Sitio Lonoy and its other nearby sitios. The 20-meter bridge project funded by the Provincial Government of Northern Samar under its economic development fund, is hoped to enhance the quality of life of residents in the area and nearby communities.

Governor Edwin Ongchuan, who graced the inauguration, congratulated the Local Government of Bobon for its newly constructed bridge, pointing out how the bridge will help uplift the lives of the people of Bobon by providing increased access to goods and services, particularly with their daily needs and activities, travel to the hospital, school, and the transport of goods to the market. He also urged the municipal and barangay local government unit to maintain the bridge, including the solar streetlights installed, and make sure that they are functioning well especially at night.

The event was also graced by Bobon Municipal Mayor Hon. Reny Celespara, Vice Mayor Ligaya Tagros Uy, Former Municipal Mayor of Bobon Clara Celespara-Gremio, Asst. Provincial Engineer Engr. Gilleny  Moreno, Project Contractor Mr. Sinclaire Lucero, other key officials of LGU Bobon, barangay officials, and Rev. Fr. Fernando Bogtong who officiated the blessing of the bridge. 

The construction of the Dancalan-Lonoy bridge is aligned with Governor Ongchuan’s development agenda dubbed as Sustained PROGRESS.
