Part of the disaster preparedness, risk reduction and resiliency efforts of the provincial government, Governor Edwin Ongchuan led the turnover yesterday, February 8, 2023, of the newly-completed Evacuation Center in Brgy. Bantayan, San Roque.
Governor Ongchuan, supported by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan through the leadership of Vice Governor Clarence Dato, approved a P6.6 million Provincial Government funding for the two-storey evacuation center in Bantayan. The facility, already completed and ready for use, was turned over to the Local Government Unit of San Roque, after its inauguration and blessing yesterday.
With Governor Ongchuan during the turnover was Vice Governor Clarence Dato and Northern Samar 2nd District Representative Harris Ongchuan, a mark of the strong partnership between the Provincial Government and the province’s representation in Congress.
Board Member Don Avalon and San Roque Mayor Maria Ana Avalon also graced the occasion, along with other partners and LGU officials.
Apart from Bantayan, the Provincial Government also supported the construction of evacuation centers in other parts of the province.
