Northern Samar Shines at Regional Awards for Outstanding MSME Development Initiatives

Nortehanon Programs have once again proven to be exemplary initiatives in the Eastern Visayas Region by dominating the Provincial and Regional Awards for Outstanding Development Partners. Together with the Local Government Units of Catubig and Allen, the Provincial Government received this award at the Hotel Alejandro in Tacloban City.

It can be noted that the Provincial Government of Northern Samar, through its Provincial Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (PGNS-PEDIPO), was recently honored with the prestigious presidential award for an Outstanding Development Partner. Today, the Provincial and Regional levels honors relentless dedication of the province in supporting and nurturing MSMEs and fostering sustainable economic growth in the region.

The awarded programs from Northern Samar were: "Invest Northern Samar: Establishment of NS-PEDIPO" from the PGNS-PEDIPO for the Creating/Improving Business Climate Category, "Barriopreneurs" from the LGU Allen for the Providing/Improving Access to Markets Category, and the "Catubig Organic Climate Resilient Farm Business School Program" from the LGU Catubig for the Enhancing Management of Labor Capacities Category.

In a virtual message, Governor Edwin C. Ongchuan expressed his delight for the honor bestowed to the Province of Northern Samar, he added "We understood that creating a favorable business climate required more than just attracting investments—it demanded efficiency, transparency, and a commitment to ease of doing business".

Receiving the award on behalf of the Provincial Government were Board Member Hon. Marites Gillamac and the Head of PEDIPO, Mr. Jhon Allen B. Berbon.

The recognitions serve as a testament to the province's successful programs and initiatives aimed at empowering Nortehanon entrepreneurs. As Northern Samar continues to build on this momentum, it is poised to attract more investments and further elevate its status as a hub for thriving MSMEs, contributing to the overall prosperity of the Eastern Visayas Region.
