ARTA Monitors the Compliance of Northern Samar PEDIPO

The Northern Samar Provincial Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (PEDIPO) recently received a warm and cordial visit from the Eastern Visayas Anti Red Tape Authority (ARTA), marking a key step in ensuring the compliance of the office with the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018. The head of PEDIPO, Mr. Jhon Allen Berbon, warmly welcomed the inspectors while simultaneously showcasing the commitment of the office to service standards.

The ARTA Eastern Visayas Regional Field Office (RFO), led by Atty. Cherry Llorad, conducted regular spot checks across various government offices in Northern Samar to monitor their compliance with the ARTA Laws, including relevant Memorandum Circulars (MCs) and Joint Memorandum Circulars (JMCs).

During the meeting, PEDIPO presented the Northern Samar Greenlane, a relatively new initiative designed to streamline business permit and licensing procedures, which received positive feedback from the ARTA personnels. According to Atty. Llorad, “This is the first time we have seen such an initiative. We have conducted routine spot checks in Regions 6, 7, and 8, and this approach would surely appeal to various investors, as evidenced by the numerous investors already showing interest in the province.”

The ARTA Eastern Visayas RFO has found the Northern Samar PEDIPO to be compliant with the mandates of the Ease of Doing Business Act, albeit with minor comments. Mr. Berbon and his team’s commitment to upholding the standards reflects a proactive stance in improving service delivery and reducing bureaucratic red tape. As ARTA continues its efforts to monitor and enhance government efficiency, the positive engagement from PEDIPO serves as a testament to the ongoing reform efforts within the province.
