The Provincial Government continuously implements street lighting program across the province, with the latest solar lights installed along the National Highway in Victoria, Northern Samar.
With a total of 350 steel lamp posts installed with solar lights, the 32.5 million peso project aims to increase visibility in the area even during night time, allowing travelers to have safe ride and reduce the risk of vehicular accidents, while also promoting the use of green, alternative energy considered as sustainable and environment-friendly.
The Provincial Government Inspectorate Team recently inspected the project to ensure that the units are properly installed and compliant to set standards and engineering design.
Through the project, the Provincial Government under the leadership of Governor Edwin Ongchuan, hopes to enhance road safety and security, and at the same time, facilitate greater access of goods, services and people all throughout the day and at all times of the week.
