
PGNS builds Evacuation Center in Brgy. San Agustin, Lavezares
The Provincial Government of Northern Samar (PGNS) has completed the construction of a new evacuation center in Brgy. San Agustin, Lavezares.
An initiative of Governor Edwin Ongchuan under his vision for a Marig-on (resilient), Mainuswagon (progressive), ngan Malipayon (happy) nga mga Nortehanon, the facility is set to benefit approximately 1,000 residents from the barangay.
The three-storey building comes with essential features that will respond to the needs of evacuees during emergencies.
1st Floor:
- 1 comfort room for persons with disabilities (PWDs) with a PWD ramp
- 1 common-use comfort room
- Kitchen
- Breastfeeding area
- Office area/room
- Electrical room
- Generator room
- Evacuees' area
2nd Floor:
- 1 Male comfort room (CR)
- 1 Female CR
- Evacuees' area
- Balcony
The third floor of the facility has a roof deck and a general area for various purposes.
In gratitude to the Provincial Government, Brgy. Kagawad Salvador Mensorado said, “Kami nga mga taga Brgy. San Agustin, kaupod an kapitan ngan mga konsehales, dako dako an amon pagpasalamat sini nga bulig nga nagkayaon kami sin evacuation center. Dako nga salamat sa gobyerno probinsyal para sini nga proyekto.”
The PGNS Inspectorate Team conducted final inspection of the 7-million peso project on September 7, 2023.
The Evacuation Center stands as a testament to Governor Edwin Ongchuan and the Provincial Government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of residents especially in times of disaster. (NAC/LKH/act)
